A Timeless Kitchen, Which Gives A Gentle Nod To It’s Countryside Setting In Sydney’s Hills District

While interior designer Antonina Scotti of Sukari Interior Design is used to creating dream homes for her clients, building a forever home for herself, husband Anthony and their three kids was extra special. The Details

Crucial details The stone and timber scheme features bronze and brass accents, which underscores the palette with warmth and sophistication. A focal point is the seven-arm Christopher Boots ‘Phasmida’ pendant, from Est Lighting that mimics the branches of trees surrounding the property. Acid-washed brass ‘Surrey’ cabinetry handles from Hepburn Hardware also add a subtle metallic lustre.

Another prep area, below a window overlooking the garden, features a second sink and beautiful stretch of New York marble across the benchtop and splashback, which flows into the adjoining butler’s pantry. For a cohesive feel, wall sconces from Coco Republic were chosen for their beautiful marble look patterning.

Designer’s tip “With a soaring 3.6-metre ceiling, it was important that the overhead cabinetry did not make the kitchen feel top heavy,” explains Antonina. “By incorporating fluted glass, it breaks up the heaviness of the veneer and still allows the concealed rangehood to be obscured from view.”
